Hormones Override the Cortex With High Emotion?

Feelings are FELT in the body.

So, often times, instead of trying to use our mind to change how we feel in our body, we need to move our body to change how we FEEL in it.

Out Of The Mind, Into The Body

We often Attempt to use "'Positive thoughts"' to think our way out of high emotion….stress.

The mind is a powerful tool in navigating mild annoyances or frustrations.

However, when activated in a more PROFOUND way - like with anger or anxiety - the mind is actually a weak tool.

This is because during INTENSE emotion our system is literally flooded with a ton of hormones that make it hard for the cortex (rational part of your brain) to do it's job.

These hormones are controlling/directing our feelings. The system needs to be settled, in order to think a bit more clearly.

A powerful way to move through high emotion is to get into the body and release the PHYSICAL energy.

Once some of the physical stress energy has been released from the BODY… our MIND can have clearer, more effective, thoughts.
