THOUGHTS CREATE SENSATIONS IN THE BODY....BASED ON THOSE SENSATIONS, WE CREATE LABELS...WHICH WE CALL EMOTIONS.




Beliefs are agreements we create based on our experiences.
When stimuli occurs, we respond based on the thoughts (beliefs) we have about it.

The thought/beliefs we have about the stimuli is what creates a FEELING/sensation in the body (such as defensiveness, fluttery stomach, tight stomach, tight shoulders, etc.)

The byproduct of these feelings/sensations are EMOTION/the label if that feeling; such as jealousy, sadness, anger, fear, etc.
In healing our emotional landscapes, our responses, we have to work with healing our thoughts/beliefs [mind]

AND

with healing our awareness of our feelings/sensations [body].

This is where Somatic practice is so helpful. It helps us understand the fluttering stomach is manageable with breath, the tightness in the chest can be soothed by moving the body a bit, and a hug from Self or someone safe can help the shoulders relax.
